What you're choosing in the designer
The designer above is doing more than filling in blanks. Every control in it changes something you can see or hold in the finished piece, and a few of those choices are awkward to undo once the diploma is printed, signed, and framed. Here is what each one is actually deciding.
The two sizes, and how you plan to display it
HomeSchool Diplomas print in landscape at 8.5" × 11" or 7.5" × 9.5". The larger size is the American convention and the one most families order; it slides into standard diploma covers and off-the-shelf frames, which saves a trip to a custom framer later. The smaller size sits more comfortably in the hand at a co-op ceremony and hangs well on a crowded wall beside other framed pieces. Neither size costs more than the other — every style, seal, and size is included — so choose based on where the diploma is going to end up.
Styles, seals, and signature lines
The style picker offers seven layouts, and they differ by more than typeface. Each carries its own certification line and completion wording — from the traditional blackletter designs through an arched program name with the seal set to the left, to a burgundy uppercase serif and a sepia heritage treatment. Thirteen seal designs sit alongside them. Every diploma prints with two signature lines, and you choose the titles set beneath them: Administrator and Instructor, Father and Mother, two unlabeled blanks, or wording of your own. The lines themselves print empty on purpose — you sign in ink after the diploma arrives, which is how a diploma signature is supposed to work.
Heavyweight parchment and an embossed metallic seal
Printed orders go on premium parchment stock. Weight is the first thing a hand registers, and it is most of the difference between a document and a printout — paper that flexes like copier stock undercuts the design no matter how good the design is. The seal you pick in the widget is applied as a metallic gold seal, embossed into the paper rather than printed flat as part of the artwork. An embossed seal catches light and throws a small shadow; a flat printed circle reads as decoration and photographs like it too.
The live preview, and what the digital copy is for
The preview redraws as you type, at the proportions of the size you selected, so you see line breaks, name length, and date wording exactly as they will print. Long homeschool program names are the usual surprise — the arched layout resizes the type to fit the arc, and watching that happen before you order is the entire point. Proofread the graduate's full legal name character by character while it is in front of you. Every order also includes the digital copy, and that file does real work later: it is what you attach when a college, an employer, or a records office asks for the diploma years from now, without taking the framed original off the wall.

Every HomeSchool Diploma is issued by the customer's own homeschool program. As the administrator of your homeschool, you certify that your graduate has completed the course of study and graduation requirements you set under your state's homeschool law, and we design and print the diploma based on that certification. We are a printing service — not a school, school district, or accreditation body — and we are not affiliated with any public school, school district, or accreditation body.
